We were blessed with glorious sunshine as we welcomed around 500 members of the SJCS community to our much-loved annual Parents' Association Fun Day. Current families, alumni, incoming families, staff, and even our new incoming Head, Sarah Wright—joined by her husband and children, gathered on the Playing Fields for an afternoon of joy and connection.
Form 3 delivered a captivating production of the Snow Queen, bringing the story of Kai and Gerda to life with spine-tingling performances and evocative music specially adapted by our music teacher, Ms Harris. The children embraced the tale’s themes of friendship, perseverance, and courage, deepening their emotional expression and confidence on stage.
This informal lunchtime concert was a joyful celebration of musical creativity, showcasing the compositions of Forms 3 and 4 as part of their music curriculum. 120 compositions had been submitted in Lent Term, thoughtfully reviewed by their music teacher, and 16 were selected to be performed live by Stradivarius Strings. This ensemble of older children were very engaged by the task of performing these pieces and demonstrated a genuine interest in the work of the younger children during rehearsal. 
Four Form 4 pupils made their voices heard at an inaugural debating competition held at Culford School. The idea here was to showcase the debating skills and abilities of prep school pupils, with the aim of streamlining and launching an annual prep school debating competition.
Form 2 pupils embarked on a remarkable journey through history, experiencing life as wartime evacuees for the day at the Stibbington Centre. The immersive event transported the children to the 1940s, allowing them to step into the shoes of children evacuated to the countryside during World War II.
Our Choristers had an unforgettable Easter holiday, visiting an incredible 6 U.S. states in just 16 days with the rest of the Å·ÃÀ×ÔÅÄ’s College Choir and the organ scholars. This whirlwind journey was packed with breathtaking performances, cultural experiences, and lasting memories. Each concert was met with packed audiences, whose enthusiasm and appreciation made the experience even more special.
One of our Form 6 pupils has demonstrated outstanding mathematical talent after qualifying for the prestigious Grey Kangaroo round of the Intermediate Maths Challenge. Entering the competition independently to push her mathematical abilities, she has surpassed expectations with a string of impressive achievements. The UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge is a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make pupils think. 
Over the Easter break some of our Senior House children embarked on an exhilarating ski trip to La Thuile in Italy that combined daily lessons, fun-filled evenings, and lasting memories.
Senior House pupils embarked on a cultural adventure to Northern France over the Easter break at the picturesque Le Château du Broutel, near the historic town of Rue.
Our Sixth Form concluded the Lent term with their performance of the 'Passion Play', retelling the Easter story of Jesus' final days with emotion and conviction. This annual Å·ÃÀ×ÔÅÄ's tradition is more than just a dramatic retelling - it is an opportunity for reflection, growth, and understanding through the children's heartfelt performances, and moments of solemn reflection.
