Shakespeare Plays – A Trilogy by Form 6

Body

In a time-honoured tradition, our Form 6 Leavers took their final bow beneath the beloved willow tree in the Senior House garden, performing a breathtaking trilogy of Shakespeare plays that marked their transition from school to the wider world.

With the evening sunlight filtering through the branches, the garden transformed into a stage for three of the Bard’s greatest works: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Romeo and Juliet. Laughter rippled through the audience as Beatrice and Benedick sparred in Much Ado, while the magic of the forest came alive in the mischievous antics of Puck and his fairy companions. And as twilight settled over the garden, the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet delivered a stirring farewell, capturing the bittersweet emotions of a class on the cusp of change.

This rite of passage is more than a performance—it is a moment of reflection, a celebration of growth, and a symbol of our Form 6's journey. The willow tree, under which many school memories have been made, now stands witness to this final act, its swaying branches a silent homage to the friendships forged and lessons learned.

From their first hesitant steps onto the stage in younger years to this bold final performance, our Leavers have embraced the spirit of Shakespeare, giving life to his timeless words with passion and depth. As they step forward into new adventures, they carry with them not just the echoes of their performances but the strength, creativity, and camaraderie that this tradition has instilled in them.

Performing under the willow felt magical—like the plays came to life around us.

Though their time here is drawing to a close, their voices and stories will forever linger beneath the willow’s embrace, reminding us that all the world’s a stage—and their next act is just beginning.
